A Tale of Two Halves

First, this was the second time that I had been to a Colts game. I had gone week 17 of the 2012 season. I parked at approximately the same spot. The people there were very nice. There were some awesome pregame activities about 2 miles north of the stadium; there were free posters and free jersey shaped towels. It was awesome. The pregame felt like a nice, professional pep rally, complete with live music and giveaways. The bag policy had changed slightly between 2012 and 2013/2014, so we had to go back to the car, but that was a minor nuisance. The stadium is very well kept. The indoor temperature was nice, the staff is nice, the food and drinks are affordable, and it was an overall great experience. The game itself was unforgettable. The Chiefs dominated in the first half, but Andrew Luck worked his magic. It was a very high scoring game, filled with drama and nail biting. I felt bad for all of the Chiefs players that got hurt. It all came down to clutch play and timing, though. Of the two NFL stadiums that I have gone to, I have had more fun here than the other place.

The Bengals pulled it off, from my broken seat

We order d food at their neat little restaraunt, but they have a horrible system. They take your order and your name and then rely on yelling your name out to come up to counter to get your food. Well, when they yelled my name on the opposite end of the little food area, from where we ordered and were standing, ($40.00 worth of food) someone else (not with my group) claimed to be me and took all our food. We stood there patiently waiting and periodically inquiring as to why it was taking so long for 40 minutes. When I asked to speak with the manager she said people take other people’s food all the time and it was quite common. So they gave us our money back and then rushed our food, but we were already halfway through the first quarter before we could head to our seats. When we arrived at our seats we had to kick a couple kids out of them and then ask the people in front of us to give back the complimentary T-shirts that were hanging on our $110 a piece seats. When I say down in my seat, it felt weird. It kept getting worse the longer we sat there, eventually my nephew took my seat and gave me his because he was afraid I would be embarrassed if it completely broke while I was sitting there. Not long after he took my seat, it broke completely. He approached the guy at the end of our row and he offered to sit us in the handicapped section (not as good seats as we already had as we were sitting in the middle of the Bengals end zone and these seats were way off to the side. So, eventually my nephew resolved to sitting a row or two behind us. The most disappointing part of this experience is that I’ve never seen a game in a dome, I’m not rich so I can’t make it to every game, I have a newborn baby and this was my first date with my husband in at least 5 months and I just felt like the stadium workers didn’t care that we were having all these issues. They were nice enough but did nothing to improve on all the wrongs we were experiencing.

Club seat?

I had paid extra or at least a higher dollar value for Club seats for the extras which some is the seats themselves, like cushioned seats, more room, etc. My wife's and my seats ended up being folding chairs. We saw other seats in our section that were the normal Club seats that had the arm rests, cub holders, cushion seats and they were fixed to the ground, but for whatever reason ours and about 10 others around us were all in folding chairs. The rest of the Club areas were really nice, but these folding chair seats was a fail.
